Confidentiality

All patient information is considered to be confidential and we comply fully with the Data Protection Act. All employees have access to this information in relation to their role and have signed a confidentiality agreement. Information may be shared, in confidence with other NHS organisations in the interests of patient care.

The practice will ensure that patient confidentially is maintained at all times by all members of staff.Even if you are under 16, Doctors and Nurses still have to keep anything you tell them private, just as they would for an adult.

We will not discuss any information about you with anyone else, unless you ask us to do so, except in very exceptional circumstances or if your or another person’s safety is at risk. In these exceptional circumstances, you will be kept fully informed.

Access to Medical Records

For a small charge you are entitled to copies of your medical records and copies of any letters or correspondence sent to other healthcare professionals about you or your condition. We work to NHS guidelines which permit us to charge for producing copies of this information. Should you require this please speak to the Practice Manager who will advise you of the charges and process for access.

Compliments and Complaints

The practice aims to provide a high quality service to all of its patients. We welcome feedback on the services you have received both positive and negative.

Whilst we endeavour to give you the best service at all times, there may be occasions when you feel that you wish to express dissatisfaction. Therefore, if you have a complaint or concern about this service you have received from any member of the Practice, please let us know.

We adhere to the nationwide NHS complaints procedure. If your query cannot be sorted out at the time it arises and you wish to complain, please let us know as soon as possible.
