Appointments Information

General Practitioner (GP)/Advanced Nurse Practitioner Appointments

Appointments are book on the day for a telephone consultation or a face 2 face consultation with a General Practitioner (GP) or an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP).  Alternatively you can pre book a telephone consultation with a GP 24 hours before by using Patient Access between Monday – Friday after 6.30pm.

Urgent Telephone Consultation

The Duty Doctor is required to deal with all emergencies on the day. The duty doctor provides telephone triage to patients who need on the day treatment. Where the problem cannot be dealt with over the telephone, duty doctor will arrange an appointment in the surgery for you. Each doctor works a ‘duty day’ on a rota basis and is not normally available for routine pre-booked appointments on that day.

Home Visits

If you are unable to attend the Surgery, please make your request for a visit as soon as possible and before 10.00am on the day that it is required.

Home visits are at the discretion of the doctor. The service is there for those patients who are housebound or too poorly to come into surgery.

Please remember that we can often see patients more promptly and have better facilities for treatment at the surgery.  When you request a visit, please give the patients full name, age, address and telephone number and the reason for the visit. If you feel the problem is URGENT, please make this clear to the Reception Team . This information allows the doctors to plan their calls and urgent requests to be dealt with promptly.
